The Aftermath; Bad News....?

Nicolette's party was a success!  I had too much food and too many games for the 19 children who were actually there, but all in all, everyone ate, enjoyed themselves, and had a good time!  We managed to do the "Freeze Dance" game to "Hey Ya" by OutKast (the kids loved it!), and some teachers dropped in after their meeting for cake and ice cream!

Birthday Song

Nicolette (Ms. Moneybags) now has $58 in birthday money.  What a take!  LOL LOL LOL!!!!!!  I plan on purchasing some jeans for her that actually fit (all of her pants are hitting her ankles now!).

 Money       Shopping       Shopping 2

This weekend, we are going to Natches, MS for Mother's Day.  Hopefully, we'll be able to pass through New Orleans, too, and see what progress has been made there.

 Family Road Trip

I received a letter in the mail from Texas DPS yesterday.  I didn't get the job.  I was disappointed; hurt even.  I did cry, because I really wanted that job.  Besides, I worked really hard to provide all the information that they asked me for.  And for a person who lost all her major documents, it was difficult.  But, as my husband said, I didn't get the job for a reason.  As much as I'd hate to admit it, he's right.  If I would have gotten the job, it would have been a good one, but it also would have caused a major strain on the family and our resources.  It would have been a job I would have had to uproot the entire family for and move closer to in order to keep.  I selfishly was willing to do all of that.  Thank God for His hand and His will on my life!

 Phew

Besides, I went on 5 interviews.  I only heard from one site.  I have yet to hear from the other four, and I still have the entire month of May to wait.  If I don't hear from any of them, I will return to Wal-Mart sometime in June, when the girls are out of school.  There's still hope for me yet!

 Hope

Good news for the hubby, though....he's started school last week to get his computer installation and repair certifications.  He's not just going for A+...he's going for Network+, MCP, and MCSA!  (I don't know what all that means yet, but stay tuned, LOL!)  He told me that once this group of students finishes training, they will be able to qualify for jobs that will be available for a firm that is opening soon in Houston and that will be needing computer specialists!  I am praying that this will work out as planned!  If it doesn't, he will still be qualified to obtain a job within that field!  Go, Matthew!

  Techy

Well, I have to go to bed now, folks.  Gotta get up early for church.  God bless you all, and enjoy the rest of your weekend!  I will try and get around to visiting everyone hopefully before Tuesday; I really need to catch up!  Bye, y'all!

(smiles) I'm glad Nicolette's bday went so well. And if ever she wants to take me shopping with some of that birthday money, i'm there! lol! When kids are her age, nothing lasts very long, my brother is just really tall and skinny and he keeps growing!

It was nice of the teachers to stop by, a little strange for me, but nice. is that an ordinary thing to happen in the USA?

I'm sorry that you didn't get the job, but your hubby is right, He has a plan for you and that job wasn't it. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you.

Its great that Matthew is going back to school to develop his skills, but you do make me laugh! You sound like me, sometimes i have no idea what adam is going on about. But i still listen. Well, whatever Network+, MCP and MCSA means, i'm sure he'll do great!

Take care and enjoy your Sunday.

That's wonderful that your daughter's party went so well, I'm glad to hear it. You know, your husband is right when he said you didn't get that job for a reason. Something is going to come along soon and I can't wait to read about it when you write us all to tell! Have a wonderful rest of your weekend!

Adrian,
I'm so sorry about the job and can understand why you would cry - after all the work you put into trying.  Doesn't sound like you're a quitter though.
Congrats to your hubby!
Happy birthday to Nicolette!
Big Hugs,
Dianna

I'm sorry about the job, but love your outlook on it all.  Chin up girl, good things are bound to come your way, especially when you least expect them.
