HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!

This was a very busy, very eventful holiday season for us.

We spent the Christmas holiday in Mississippi, visiting with my husband's relatives.  We entertained a guest at our home for New Year's Day ( I cooked).  The girls spent a night with my mom while I went to see Irvin Baxter, and Endtime minister, with my husband last night.  I really enjoyed myself, and had a wonderful time in the Lord with everyone.

The city of Houston messed up; they called Matthew in to work without calling him in for processing first.  This Wednesday, he will be processed at City Hall, and Wednesday of next week will be his first day with the City of Houston as a Traffic Systems Technician.  I am SO excited for him!  He is concerned because he will not receive his first full check on the eighteenth, but in the first week of February.  He is still employed with the temp agency, though, and they are trying to find some fill-in work for him in the meantime.  Anyone who knows me knows that it isn't important to me WHEN he starts, but that he is STARTING!!! LOL

The girls had a great Christmas; although money was tight in this household, they received nice gifts from the most unexpected places, and people!  HISD found a way to connect with an agency that was able to provide FREE BIKES for EVERY CHILD in the school district!  All three of my babies, as well as every HISD school child, got a brand-new bike!  Nicolette's aunt gave her a new MP3 player!  The girls got a ton of much-needed clothes from the in-laws, and some toys.  I bought Nicolette her first "grown-up" perfume set (A Tommy Girl gift set that was marked down for the Wal-Mart after-Christmas sale).  I also managed to get the younger girls some nice marked-down items.  It wasn't what they asked me for, but they already know what the situation is; they were grateful for what I was able to give them.

I was reading over all of my journal entries a few weeks ago, and I literally surprised myself at how honest, candid, and HOPEFUL I am! LOL  I tell ya, I can't make it without hope.  Hope sustains me, and faith is just the evidence, the fruition of what was already hoped!

Happy New Year to all!  Expect GREAT things to take place in 2008!!!!

Happy New Year to you and your family Adrian, I think 2008 is going to be your year. I bet the girls are thrilled with their bikes, what a great thing to happen for the kids in the school district. Hope your husbanf find enough work in between paychecks, it can be so tight especially with Christmas.
Everything is on the up with you,

Take care
