OK....ENOUGH, ALREADY!!!!!

Please don't take this entry the wrong way.  I seem to be one of the few people on this planet who feels the way that I do.

Britney, Lindsay and even Paris should be LEFT ALONE.  My goodness!  The paparazzi are hounding these girls, following them everywhere they go; they have NO PRIVACY, and no one respects them.

By no means am I condoning the behavior of these young women.  But I am saying that some measure of respect and dignity should be afforded to them, simply because they are HUMAN, just like you and I.  Think about it; how would you like it if someone with a camera followed YOU constantly, hanging on your every word, taking intimate pictures of you, criticizing every word that comes out of your mouth, and every action that you perform?  The fact that these young women are "celebutantes" shouldn't be an excuse for a free-for-all into their daily existence!

The problem that I have with these "journalists" is that they are so hypocritical.  I mean, I am sure that many of them have been caught in uncompromising positions themselves.  Some are probably themselves suffering with addictions.  Their marriages or relationships may be less than perfect, if they are involved in any at all!  And, hey.......how many of US tied one too many on at a party or a nightclub in our twenties?!?  I know I have!  (Remembering fondly........LOL)

In my humble, motherly opinion, Britney, Paris and Lindsay grew up too fast.  The sad sight that we are witnessing today are three young women trying desperately to reclaim those days of carefree bliss, much to the chagrin, the amazement, and sometimes the disgust of the American public.

I don't feel that they owe me anything.  But the media is making these fragile human beings believe that they do.  I mean, for God's sake, how many stories have you heard of a 20-year old going to AA meetings, battling drug addiction AND an eating disorder ALL AT ONCE?  It's entirely too much stress.  I am fearing that if this media circus continues, and if these young women continue to be harassed in this way, something fatal can and will happen to one of them.  The tragedy can be self-inflicted.  I pray that these people would just leave these girls alone.  Let them be, before it's too late.

I agree.  If the press quit hounding them, they'd be out of the headlines and we could all forget about them.  I'm so tired of turning on tv/computer and having one of them staring back at me.

Hmm...I'm not sure I agree with you. Yes, i'm sure that the life of being a 'celebutante' is difficult, but after all its what they wanted.

Britney and Lindsay at least have some excuse, they're (somewhat) talented actresses and singers. where as Paris is just the daughter of a hotel owner.

Part and parcel of being famous these days is fans wanting to know about you. Both Britney and Lindsay know they'd be nothing without fans, they wouldn't be famous. they wouldn't have nearly as much money as they do now. And if they want to stay famous they need to stay in the public eye. now i wonder, how do they do that?

that's where these "so called journalists" come into play. without them taking pictures and writing stories, they'll be passed up for movie parts. and people won't be as interested in their music/movies.

its all well and good to blame journalists for hounding celebs who are "just doing their job". so are the journalists. the people to blame are the folks at home buying glossy celeb mags and watching E or the Daily 10.

its not enough for us to just listen to our fav celebs album or see their movie. we feel like we deserve to know more. every little detail down to what kind of toilet paper they use. and "these so called journalists" go out there and provide us with it.

simple supply and demand.

the only people i feel sorry for are the children of celebs, there should be some kind of law preventing kids being snapped because they didn't sign up to it. their parents did.

and honestly, how many times have you got drunk and flashed your knickers? they do it for attention. funny how most celebs have their name all over the tabloids just before a new movie or album!
